The Synology DiskStation DS1525neo+ is a five-bay desktop NAS enclosure built on the DS Plus platform with a lower-cost 4 GB DDR4 non-ECC memory configuration. Its AMD Ryzen V1500B processor provides four cores and eight threads at 2.2 GHz, and the two memory slots support up to 32 GB using compatible modules. Dual 2.5GbE ports provide built-in networking, while two M.2 2280 NVMe slots support compatible SSD cache. The dedicated Gen3 x2 network upgrade slot supports the E10G22-T1-Mini 10GbE module, and two DX525 expansion units can extend the system to 15 drive bays. The supplied memory is non-ECC DDR4. It is a diskless enclosure, so compatible SATA HDDs or SSDs are sold separately. Check Synology’s current compatibility list before purchasing drives, memory or expansion hardware.
