The Synology RackStation RS826+ is a four-bay 1U rackmount NAS enclosure for branch offices, workgroups and small or medium-sized businesses. It uses an AMD Ryzen V1500B 4-core, 8-thread processor at 2.2 GHz and includes 4 GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory, expandable to 32 GB across two slots. Four built-in 1GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation and network failover, while the PCIe Gen3 x8 slot with an x4 link accepts supported 10GbE or 25GbE network cards. An RX426 expansion unit can increase the system to eight drive bays. The chassis also supports compatible SSD cache, subject to Synology’s compatibility list. This is a diskless enclosure: four compatible 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs are sold separately. Confirm drives, memory, expansion and network adapters against the current list, then have rack and network installation completed professionally.
